Today, we want to introduce you to the Chilean-French rap singer Ana Tijoux. I first knew about Anita when she was part of the hip-hop group Makiza. The song The windrose (1999) became a hit in Chile and Latin America.

The lead single “Shock” was inspired by Naomi Klein’s book, The Shock Doctrine, and the song also became an anthem for students in Chile demanding educational reform. Tijoux exposes the political and economic injustices she sees around her with some great music."
