Usos de los Participios | Uses of Participles

Un participio es una palabra que comparte algunas características de ambos, verbo y adjetivo.
A participle is a word that shares some characteristics of both verbs and adjectives. (Wikipedia)

Usos | Uses
Es importante notar que un participio cambia en género y número | It is important to notice that a participle changes gender and number

1. Junto al verbo 'estar' | Together with the verb 'estar'
El banco está cerrado The bank is closed
La casa está cerrada The house is closed

2. Cuando se construye la voz pasiva, junto al verbo 'ser' | When the passive voice is formed, together with the verb 'ser'
El banco fue cerrado por Juan The bank was closed by Juan
La casa fue cerrada por Maria The house was closed by Maria

3. Modificando a un sustantivo | Modifying a noun
Ví a un joven asustado  I saw a scared young man
Ví a una mujer asustada I saw a scared young woman
